“Excruciation” examines the impact of social media and digital social spaces on our contemporary understandings of digital identity. The animated information (18 monologues) about the individual(s) portrayed in this video piece derive from what we say about ourselves on the internet. Every monologue is shaped by user commentary from various online platforms and extended with written exchanges between humans and Twitter bots.
