PANDEMONIUM (2021)

4-Channel video installation, 6:30 min. Size: variable.

PANDEMONIUM is an immersive four-channel video installation that encapsulates the chaos, fear, and media saturation of 2020. A year that reshaped collective consciousness is reassembled into a relentless visual and sonic experience—forcing the viewer to relive moments that have since become part of our shared memory. Footage from global events is layered and fragmented, not as a linear retelling but as a sensory overload, mirroring the way history unfolded in real time through screens, notifications, and endless news cycles.
At the center of the installation stands a black Demonia gaming chair, its leather devil-horned headrest evoking a dark throne of digital entrapment. The chair is bolted to the floor, allowing the viewer to spin—but never to see all four screens at once. The screens, positioned in a circular arrangement, create a deliberately fractured perspective, echoing the anxiety of the COVID-19 pandemic, when information flooded in from all directions, yet full comprehension remained just out of reach. The feeling of always missing something—of events slipping past, unseen yet deeply felt—is embedded in the physical structure of the work.
Driving the intensity of the installation is a mesmerizing, heavy techno soundtrack composed by renowned DJ NENE H. The pulsating, hypnotic rhythms amplify the work’s immersive power, pushing the viewer into a state of sensory overload—both entranced and unsettled, caught in a loop of fragmented memories and media-driven anxieties.
PANDEMONIUM confronts the way crisis, spectacle, and media shape our perception of reality. It is a work of disorientation and immersion, designed for exhibitions and collections that engage with themes of contemporary history, media saturation, and psychological impact. A powerful addition to any space examining the role of visual culture in shaping memory and control.
